The logo features a shield encompassing a nature scene. A 4-point star in the sky, a mountain contoured by trees, and a foreshortened path toward the bottom of the mark make up it’s composition. The mark is geometric in style and in construction. These characteristics convey the protective and safeguarding nature of the brand that it represents.
The horizontal lockup features the brand’s logo, paired with left-aligned text, set in Chakra Petch, of the organizations’ name.
The secondary lockup utilizes a reduced version of the brand logo that features a shield silhouette and 4-point star. These elements paired with an abbreviated version of the brand full name (United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service) are a great visual mark to use when applying identifiers in smaller applications.

For the brand, Interstate serves as the typeface for sub-headings and body copy.
The color palette is inspired by the mission of the department itself. With green hues representing the earthy tones commonly found in nature, and accent colors representative of fire and the sky above.
